World Cup Roster announced

The South Sudan Basketball Federation is proud to introduce the inaugural South Sudan Men's National Team for the FIBA World Cup.

Currently, the 18-man roster is present at the South Sudan World Cup training camp in Melbourne, Australia.

Six players of the national squad, as previously announced sustained injuries prior to the start of training camp at their respective clubs and will not be competing in the World Cup. We wish for a rapid recovery and return to the court for Padiet Wang, Jackson Makoi, Bul Kuol, JT Thor, Emmanuel Malou, and Jo Lual-Acuil.

The (SSBF) further welcomes recently announced NBA player Wenyen Gabriel and NBL’s Mangok Mathiang to the team, as well as NBA G League’s Marial Shayok for his long-awaited return. NBA G League MVP Carlik Jones of the Chicago Bulls has joined as a naturalized player. We believe these outstanding players are a great addition to the Bright Stars World Cup Squad.

Emerging talents Gob Gabriel, Khaman Maluach, Deng Dut, and Emmanuel Akot have all joined training camp in Melbourne.

The (SSBF) would like to express gratitude to the President of the Republic, H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit, for his unwavering support.

The journey of the Bright Stars began with the SSD family and we are thrilled to share this moment with you all.

Manila, here we come!
